WHAT'S NEW?
Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize
For its landmark anniversary year, Artscape awards a $25,000 prize to an artist working in the
Baltimore region on Friday, July 14 at the Maryland Institute College of Arts' Fox Building at 1303 Mount Royal Avenue.

25th Anniversary Fireworks Finale
A special fireworks finale lights up the night sky on Friday, July 21 at 10 p.m.  

Art Demo Dayz
Art Demo Dayz offers a series of creative arts demonstrations introducing festival-goers of all ages to a variety of art mediums, creation techniques and genres. 

Expedition 6 with Bill Pullman
Actor, writer, and director, Bill Pullman, penned this play based on a true story of an emergency rescue in outer space.  Pullman has starred in blockbuster movies including Sleepless in Seattle, The Grudge, Independence Day, While You Were Sleeping, and A League of Their Own.  The production is followed by a question and answer session with Bill Pullman.  Friday, July 21 at 8 p.m. at Theater Project at 45 West Preston Street.

Baltimore's Sister Cities - Postcard Project
Pen meets paper in the Family Art Park!  Baltimore's Sister City program will be on hand in traditional dress to assist children in the creation of postcards that will be sent to a pen-pal in a sister city of their choosing. (Sister Cities include: Alexandria, Egypt; Ashkelon, Israel; Ely O'Carroll, Ireland; Genoa, Italy; Gbarnga, Liberia; Kawasaki, Japan; Luxor, Egypt; Odessa, Ukraine; Piraeus, Greece; Rotterdam, The Netherlands; Xiamen, China).  The goal is to 2500 new pen pals.

Target Make It At Artscape! 
Children can express themselves through painting and drawing! Complete with paper, easels, paints, crayons, markers, colored pencils and stickers. When you've finished, hang your artwork in the Make it at Artscape gallery in the Family Art Park!

'Shall We Dance?' Workshop Sessions
A "hands-on" opportunity to get into the groove of the moment. to get up close and personal .to get down and dirty .. to try a little something new. Don't be shy. Let your inner dancer fly free.  Dance workshops include line dancing, ballroom dancing, and swing partner dancing. 

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra
Don't miss a chance to see Baltimore's world-class musicians perform for free.  Performances take place Saturday, July 22 at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral Street.

Noon
Talented teens from the Greater Baltimore Youth Orchestra perform a concert for children and families on the stage of the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.  

4 p.m.
Associate Conductor Andrew Constantine leads the BSO in favorites of the classical repertoire including Pachelbel's Canon, Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture, Stravinksy's Firebird and Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.  

5:30 p.m.
BSO musicians show off their wild side in a program led by Andrew Constantine that will feature the BSO percussion section, the fiddling of Ellen Pendleton Troyer, and the BSO bassoon section parading as motorcycle thugs in Michael Daugherty's entertaining Hell's Angels.
