University of Maryland Children's Hospital Pediatric AIDS program.
The program currently serves 350 children ages newborn through 18 years old. The program is Maryland's largest, comprehensive service for children who either have HIV, are at risk of developing it or have an HIV positive mother. The program currently provides care for about 350 children throughout the state.
The Pediatric AIDS Program is also integrated with an obstetrics program at the Medical Center to make sure that pregnant women with HIV receive seamless care for themselves and their babies.
The Pediatric AIDS Program offers the following services:
* HIV counseling
* HIV testing
* Well-child care
* Specialized pediatric immunologic care
* Case management
* Developmental pediatrics
* Pediatric psychology
* Mental health treatment
* Access to research and clinical trials
* Child life services
* Social services
* Addiction counseling
* Nutrition consultation
* Client advocacy
