2ND ANNUAL PRINCE GEORGE'S FOOTBALL CLASSIC

Three Day Celebration of Sports, Culture & Community to
Honor Historically Black Colleges & Universities

Event at FedEx Field to host
Morgan State University vs. North Carolina A&T
on Saturday, October 8, 2005

Oxon Hill, Maryland--On Monday, July 25, 2005, the Prince George's Black Chamber ofCommerce (PGBCC) announced the details for the 2nd Annual Prince George's Classic,a three day celebration of sports, culture and community. The event will culminate with an exciting football game predestined to become a gridiron classic. This year's match-up pits the Morgan State University Bears, led by head coach Donald Hill-Eley, against the North Carolina A&T Aggies, led by head coach George Small. Kick-off at FedEx Field will be 4:00 pm, Saturday, October 8, 2005.

"After a tough selection process, we chose two outstanding teams and built a fantastic schedule of cultural and community events, including the second Battle of the Bands, the Black College Expo, the Welcome Reception and concerts," said Mike Little, President of the Prince George's Classic. "The Prince George's Classic weekend is a celebration of cultural excellence and educational achievement while showcasing the most affluent African-American community in the nation," stated Prince George's County Executive Jack B. Johnson.

"We have a solid fan base and a perfect market to showcase the tradition and quality of HBCU football and its pageantry. We are unwavering in our support for the Prince George's Classic and we extend a heartfelt welcome to every fan, friend and alumni of Morgan State University and North Carolina A&T University, two of America's most storied HBCUs, to come and experience Gorgeous Prince George's County."

"Maryland's Prince George's County is one of the wealthiest counties in the nation for African Americans and has a strong HBCU alumni base. PGBCC values the importance of these institutions and wants to share its collegiate spirit and tradition with the entire state by presenting the only football classic of its kind in the region," said PGBCC President Hubert "Petey" Green. "In addition to the celebration of community, education, camaraderie and sportsmanship, the Prince George's Classic will have a great economic impact on the region with an estimated 15 million dollars in revenue for the county and local businesses. This will be a great day for football and for Maryland."

"The Prince George's Classic has the potential to become the greatest and most distinguishable HBCU Classic in the Country."
